SCOUT Compliance & remediation system
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. – September 19, 2006 –
Today ThreatGuard, Inc.
released the FISMA Scout compliance and remediation system. FISMA Scout becomes the first product to
consume the automated checklist content from the National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) and perform compliance assessments,
remediation activities, and scoring.
Key features of FISMA Scout
include:
- Consumption of NISTs
eXtensible Configuration Checklist Description Format (XCCDF) content
- Consumption of NIST's Open
Vulnerability and Assessment Language (OVAL) version 5.0 content
- Proprietary XCCDF and OVAL parsing and
assessment engines perform assessments using the raw
content
- Performs security patch compliance checks
using ThreatGuard-created OVAL patch checklist content
- Includes representative remediation system
to automatically bring computers into compliance
- Detailed references for each rule including
NIST, DISA, NSA, Common Configuration Enumeration (CCE) and
others
- Search capability with quick navigation to
appropriate rules
- Includes several report including a
comprehensive Benchmark report, user reports, and services reports
